Resound and Morning Glory Choirs Present
All Ye Singers & Non-Singers!
A spring fundraiser and panoply of song
Gates of Heaven
Monday, May 20
7:00 - 8:30 PM
You're invited to a celebratory evening of song-filled community at its best at Gates of Heaven! Resound and Morning Glory Choirs are teaming up as Madison's all-voices-welcome, queer-friendly community choirs to share their spring season of singing with friends and family. Come to hear some beautiful uplifting songs, sing along to a few if you so choose, and support the Resound Community Scholarship Fund.
Our choirs are unique in that our sole purpose is to sing for the joy of singing and create a vibrant, nourishing community for all. There are no auditions, no sheet music to read, no gendered section language, and no striving for 'perfection' in the songs we sing. We learn to love our voices as they are, singing for the bettering of ourselves and our world, creating a very different aesthetic of sound than that found in traditional choirs. Though we typically don't perform, we have decided to share the songs we've learned this season for the first time ever with the wider community in the form of this event. So please join us! Space is limited, so please pre-order your tickets here. Tickets will be available to the public May 3.
All donations for attendance will go to support our choir's scholarship fund.
The Gates of Heaven is a Madison historic gem, being the 4th oldest synagogue in North America. It's home is in James Madison Park, a centrally located lakeside park. We are honored and grateful for the opportunity to sing in this beautiful historic venue.
